A young Washington woman who severely injured her friend by pushing her off a three-story bridge in an incident captured on camera has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless endangerment.

Taylor Smith, 19, appeared in Clark County District Court to enter her plea Monday. She was offered a plea deal last month, the details of which are not known, after having originally pleaded not guilty.

Smith was charged with one count of reckless endangerment after pushing Jordan Holgerson, 16, off the Moulton Falls Regional Park Bridge on Aug. 7.

Holgerson plummeted 60 feet before hitting the water. She broke six ribs and punctured a lung. She has since said she initially planned to jump off the bridge into the river but changed her mind before Smith shoved her.

The incident was recorded on a cellphone and it quickly went viral on social media, before the footage was eventually removed.

Surveillance camera video also reportedly showed the moment Smith pushed Holgerson off the bridge.

Holgerson and her mother, Genelle Holgerson, were in court Monday, NBC News reported.

Jordan has since developed anxiety and attends physical therapy for an injured shoulder, Genelle told reporters after the hearing.

Smith could face up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine, but prosecutors have recommended no jail time.

She will be sentenced March 27.

"I don't really want to wait ‘til next Wednesday," Genelle said of the judge’s decision to delay Smith’s sentencing. "I kind of wanted it to be done today."
