Two DeKalb County parents are in jail facing murder charges in the death of their infant child.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said they arrested 24-year-old Rachelle Rattrey and 26-year-old Tabares Tony Wadley, both of Decatur, on Tuesday after an investigation that began following a 911 call earlier in the year.

First responders arrived at the home on Bermuda Run Court to find the 1-year-old child unresponsive. The child ultimately died.

A search warrant in March later revealed numerous prescription drug containers on the floor of the home and a small amount of marijuana.

Suspecting the child overdosed on prescription medication in the home, investigators secured arrest warrants for both Wadley and Rattrey on June 25. The two were finally arrested on Tuesday by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office fugitive unit.

They are now in jail facing charges of felony second-degree murder, felony second-degree child cruelty and misdemeanor violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.
