Police arrested a man Saturday for raping and robbing a woman in a Brooklyn park earlier this month.

Jason Lopez, 40, grabbed a 20-year-old woman on Herzl St. and Dumont Ave. in Brownsville around 2:20 a.m. Dec. 1 and dragged her into Betsy Head Park where he raped her and then stole her purse, cops said.

He fled north on Herzl St. with the woman’s purse.

The victim was treated at a local hospital.

The bearded and long-haired suspect was charged with first degree rape and third degree robbery.

Rapes in the 73rd precinct — which includes Brownsville — are up 55 percent this year. Police data shows that the precinct has had 45 rapes so far this year, up from 29 at this point in 2017.
