Seattle police arrested a 34-year-old man they suspected of intentionally setting at least eight fires early Tuesday morning in North Seattle, all within two hours.

Officers responded to 911 calls reporting fires in neighborhoods around Green Lake, police said in a statement. A fence, shed, outhouse, trees and the side of a house were all damaged by the fires. Police said the first two fires were set in Phinney Ridge and Wallingford, while four more were around Green Lake Park.

After viewing surveillance videos and talking with property owners, officers were able to make a description of the suspect. Police said they spotted the man before 7 a.m. in Green Lake Park and caught him on the run.

Officers found another three spots "prepped for burning."

Police said arson detectives interviewed the suspect. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of arson, burglary and a felony warrant. They are requesting additional charges for reckless burning.
