The victim was in the driver’s seat of a Honda Civic in the parking lot of Hook Fish and Chicken when someone shot him twice through the passenger side window, police said.

The victim was shot once in the chin and once in the abdomen, officials said.

Police said the suspect fled the scene eastbound on Dale Road in an early 2000s model gray Honda Odyssey minivan with dark tinted windows. The van has an Ohio temporary tag with a clear plastic cover.

The suspect is described as black male in his 30s, 6 feet 2 inches with a heavy build, wearing a black hoodie and black tight sweatpants with a white stripe on the sides.

Vice Mayor Christopher Smitherman is on the scene of the shooting. His office cameras captured this shooting in Bond Hill.

“We’re not going to run and hide,” he said. “We’re all cooperating with one goal, which is to catch the shooter and bring him to justice.”

There have been two homicides this year in Bond Hill.

On June 5, Gannon Hillman, 25, was found by police and pronounced dead in the 1900 block of Garden Lane. The next day, Ricky Lackey, 37, was found shot to death in the 1700 block of Berkley Avenue.
