One person is in custody after leading police on a chase in a stolen van on the northbound lanes of the Beltway.

Montgomery County police said the chase began around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday when an officer attempted to stop a Ford van that was reported stolen. When the officer tried to stop the van, the driver refused to pull over.

Police said the chase ended on the northbound lanes of I-95 at Exit 33/MD-198 when the van crashed into 3 other cars. The driver tried to run away from the scene but was later caught by police.

The suspect was arrested and no one was injured, according to police. Charges are pending for the suspect whose identity has not been released at this time.
