From Kaikoura in New Zealand to Santa Catarina State, Brazil, here’s a look at Airbnb’s 19 trending destinations for 2019. The hospitality service has used its search, booking and wish list growth data (numbers for bookings/searches/wish list inclusion made for 2019 as of October 2018 vs. bookings/searches/wish list inclusion made for 2018 as of October 2017).

Kaikoura, New Zealand

Year-on-year increase in searches: 210 percent

This coastal town is most popular for its marine life, such as whales, fur seals and dolphins, which can be enjoyed by the visitors through a wide range of activities like scuba diving, kayaking and whale watching. Other activities on offer are quad biking and Maori tours. While there, do try the traditional crayfish (in the Maori language “kai” means food, “koura” means crayfish).

Xiamen, China

A mix of sophisticated urban landscape with a European vibe and an artsy feel, the harbor city is home to the world’s longest elevated cycling skyway that stretches for 4.72 miles (7.6 kilometers). Ding’aozai Cat Street, Shapowei Art Zone and the many bookstores are some of the other top draws.

Puebla, Mexico

Normandy, France

One of the most-visited national parks in America, Great Smoky Mountains spans the border between the states of North Carolina and Tennessee. Buenos Aires Province, Argentina

Accra, Ghana

Wakayama Prefecture, Japan

Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley, US

Known for the famed Woodstock festival, Catskills mountains offer a host of other activities such as rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hunting, skiing and fishing.
