And just like that, the most interesting player in college basketball has been temporarily snuffed out.

Bol Bol, the 7-2 stud who's far more than just a sharp-shooting curiosity and comes from beyond-impressive bloodlines, has unfortunately inherited a bit of fragility, too.

Bol's foot injury has now spiraled into something that needs season-ending surgery, and he confirmed the rumors from earlier on Thursday by noting that he'll now be switching his focus to the NBA Draft.

No Pac-12 slate after all for the most intriguing player in the conference.

We wish the enigmatic and powerful Bol didn't have haters to rebuke at this age, but he's always going to hear the noise, as long as people judge him based on his frame and not his potential for growth.

His father Manute Bol was one of the most unique physical specimens to ever set foot on the playing field in any sport, and it's not a stretch to say that his son looks like his reincarnation at this point, indoctrinated in the modern game (though the patriarch could hit threes, too, when given the chance).

We can't wait to see how is game and body grow. Not this year, though.
