Conor McGregor is backing Tony Ferguson through what are some clearly difficult times for the former interim UFC lightweight champion.

Over the past few days, some details about Ferguson's (24-3 MMA, 13-1 UFC) life outside the cage have emerged. A judge earlier this week granted a restraining order to Ferguson's wife, preventing Ferguson from seeing her and his son after allegations of a long line of troublesome behavior.

The situation with Ferguson is still developing, but former two division UFC champ McGregor (21-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) clearly caught wind of what was happening and decided to voice support for him (via Twitter):

Tony Ferguson is the type of guy that when all the chips are down, can pick them right back up again and come back stronger than ever!

Came back from a debilitating injury in record time to give us one of the fights of the year!

Let's go Tony!!

McGregor has been dealing with some issues of his own outside the cage over the past week - he was arrested in Florida on Monday for strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief, and he's due in court in April.

McGregor and Ferguson both are represented by Paradigm Sports, and Ferguson has been angling for a matchup with the Irishman for more than year.

With plenty to handle in their personal lives, it's unknown when Ferguson or McGregor will return to octagon.
