Having been sidelined since late December with a neck injury, veteran forward Markieff Morris was cleared to resume basketball activities on Monday.

Morris, 29, is now a free agent after the New Orleans Pelicans waived him following a trade-deadline deal with the Washington Wizards.

According to Morris’ agent, Rich Paul, the Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams interested in the forward. They are joined by the Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets.

Morris would be a darn good get for any contending team. He was averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds before going down to injury.

The 6-foot-10 forward has proven to be a darn good perimeter shooter, too. Even after the Lakers added Mike Muscala and Reggie Bullock to the mix at the deadline, this is an area they will likely address on the NBA’s buyout market.
