Reichstag, Germany

One of Berlin’s most famous landmark is the meeting place of the Bundestag, the lower house of Germany’s national legislature. Designed by Paul Wallot, the building was completed in 1894 but suffered heavy damage during World War II. It underwent several renovations, most notably under Paul Baumgarten (1955-72) and British architect Sir Norman Foster (1999). The building was first used as the seat of Parliament on Oct. 4, 1990.
