David Dinkins, New York City’s 1st Black mayor, dies at 93
The first and only Black mayor of New York City, David Dinkins, has died at the age of 93. In 1990 he was sworn in after defeating Rudy Giuliani. In other TODAY headlines, General Motors is recalling nearly 6 million SUVs and truck in the U.S. to replace potentially dangerous Takata airbag inflators.
