New York lawmakers approve stiffer gun legislation
The New York State Senate passed updated gun restrictions banning firearms in many public places, including Times Square, in addition to stiffening permit requirements. Governor Kathy Hochul has signed the legislation which comes a week after the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that allowed the possession of firearms in public.
