Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) daughter reacted Thursday afternoon to reports of conservative social media accounts sharing falsely edited videos of Pelosi made to appear as if the speaker was intoxicated by stating that her mother does not drink.

In a tweet, Christine Pelosi called an edited video that circulated to more than 1.3 million Facebook users after being taken down by YouTube "despicable," slamming attempts by conservatives to question the sobriety and mental health of her mother.

"Republicans and their conservative allies have been pumping this despicable fake meme for years! Now they are caught," she wrote, adding: "#FactCheck: Madam Speaker doesn't even drink alcohol!"

In a second message, Pelosi's daughter shared a hateful message received from a supporter of President Trump who accused the speaker of hating America while questioning her alcohol use.

Obviously this doesn't stop ME but others are affected by the "voter depression" strategy that Trump allies are perpetuating," Christine Pelosi wrote, attaching a screenshot of the message.

The edited videos appeared to have caught the attention of the White House and President Trump, who posted a video Thursday that showed numerous instances of Pelosi misspeaking during a press conference edited to remove the larger context from her remarks.

The president tweeted the video Thursday afternoon with the caption: "PELOSI STAMMERS THROUGH NEWS CONFERENCE." His feud with Pelosi erupted this week after the president reportedly stormed out of a meeting on an infrastructure deal with Democrats after Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) declined to bow to his demand for Democrats to drop various congressional investigations of his administration and personal affairs.

Trump also shared other criticism of Pelosi's speech habits on Twitter Thursday night, including one tweet quoting GOP campaign consultant Ed Rollins, who appeared on Fox News saying Pelosi was unable to "put a subject with a predicate in the same sentence."
