State legislators vote to repeal Gov. Cuomo’s emergency pandemic powers
The move comes amid calls for Gov. Cuomo to resign over allegations of sexual harassment and reports of hiding the true number of Covid-19 deaths in nursing homes. A senior advisor says the nursing home data was omitted because the health department “could not confirm it had been adequately verified,” and Cuomo publicly apologized for making people feel uncomfortable, and denied two allegations.
