President Trump on Thursday labeled special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation 'The Greatest Political Hoax of all time!' while lashing out at Hillary Clinton, "dirty cops," and Democrats ahead of the public release of Mueller's report.

"The Greatest Political Hoax of all time! Crimes were committed by Crooked, Dirty Cops and DNC/The Democrats," Trump tweeted early Thursday morning.

"PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!" Trump added in a second tweet.

The president went on to retweet a slew of messages from the conservative group Judicial Watch that criticized Clinton and suggested there was a conspiracy at the Department of Justice and FBI to undermine the president.

While Trump's targeting of the Mueller investigation is nothing new, the tweets come just hours before Attorney General William Barr is slated to release a redacted version of Mueller's full report to the public.

Though Barr says Trump has been cleared by Mueller on any suspicion of colluding with the Kremlin in 2016 and that the report does not contain proof of obstruction of justice, the report is expected to contain new evidence that could be embarrassing for the White House.

Barr is set to hold a 9:30 a.m. press conference on Thursday before Congress will receive a redacted version of Mueller's final conclusions later in the morning. The rollout has sparked a firestorm of criticism from Democrats who said the administration was trying to spin the report before its release.

"This is outrageous. The AG is supposed to be an independent beacon of truth and justice. Instead, Barr is debasing the rule of law, degrading our democratic institutions, and decimating any trust the American people have left in this Administration. #ReleaseTheReport," Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the chairman of the powerful House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, tweeted.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) Thursday morning called on Mueller to testify publicly before both chambers of Congress following Barr's "regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report" and "indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning."
