An armed man was shot and killed by police at an East Stroudsburg, Pa., Walmart late Saturday after he threatened to shoot late night shoppers, according to a report.

The 20-year-old suspect waved a machete and two handguns inside the store and refused to drop the weapons when authorities arrived within minutes of the 911 call, according to the Ponoco Record.

A witness reportedly saw the suspect brandish a handgun in each hand while ordering shoppers to leave the store.

Another shopper heard what appeared to be a misfire after he left his line of sight.

“He was walking away from us down the aisle holding the gun to his head,” James Felz told the Record.

At least three shots were fired inside the store after police arrived.

The suspect was declared deceased at a nearby hospital.

"There is no known further risk to the public," police said one hour after the shooting.
