A small community in the North Texas Metroplex is grieving the deaths of two teenage girls, who committed suicide within hours of each other over the weekend, officials said.

Ritu Sachdeva and Hillary Kate Kuizon, both 17 and students at Plano East Senior High School, were found dead with apparent self-inflicted€ wounds, a news release from the Murphy Police Department said.

The teenagers were deemed €œacquaintances in the release, but Murphy city spokesman Celso Martinez said in a phone interview with mySA.com Monday that police are investigating whether Sachdeva and Kuizon were in a suicide pact.

Sachdeva was found dead in her Murphy home late Saturday night and Kuizon was found dead early Sunday morning in a wooded area south of Plano ISD'€™s Kimbrough Stadium, Martinez said.

"We'€™re trying to determine if there was a relationship between he two suicides, but we have not come up with anything that would give us that indication,"€ he said, adding that they are also investigating the possibility of coercion.

The release said there is no evidence of foul play and there are no continuous threats to local residents.

€"It'€™s a very sensitive topic, in which the parents are put in a position that they did not choose,€" he said. "€œIt is really difficult for anyone to deal with that issue, especially if it deals with a child, like these two young girls."

"€œShe was so bright, beautiful, quirky, and just all aroundamazing, inside and out… I love you to the moon and back (and there and back again a few more times)."€
