Public libraries try to stay politically neutral as calls for defunding, censorship increase

The number of challenges reported to the American Library Association in 2021 regarding funding and censorship at public libraries was more than double the annual average, a trend that is making its way into statehouses. NBC News' Julie Tsirkin visited Lawrence County, Kentucky to see how new state legislation could strip the library of reliable funding and resources for community members.
