Before it even hit newsstands, the May 29th issue of Time magazine was already making headlines.

The striking cover image shows Russian-inspired architecture taking over the White House like a colorful octopus. There is no headline, the first time in a decade that a Time cover doesn't have a cover line according to executive editor Matt Vella.

The cover story, as you might imagine, is about the specter of Russian interference in American politics. Last week, President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, who was reportedly looking to expand his investigation into ties between Russia and the Trump administration.

On Thursday, Reuters reported that at least undisclosed 18 emails and phone calls were made between Trump's campaign team and Russian officials or individuals "close to the Russian government."

According to CNN, Time magazine is (or was) a favorite of Trump's.

"Trump himself is known to value the magazine, having kept a stack of copies — mostly with him on the front — prominently displayed on his desk in Trump Tower," CNN writes.
