Two Florida girls with reported middle school hit list arrested for conspiracy to commit murder: report

Two middle school students in Avon Park were in custody after a teacher alert authorities about a possible plan to harm others, according to a statement from the Highlands County School Board.

“At the end of the day yesterday two students were taken into custody at Avon Park Middle School after a teacher alerted law enforcement of a possible plan to harm others off campus,” reads the statement. “All families involved have been contacted. As this is an ongoing investigation no further details will be released at this time.”

The two girls were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, according to a report on WFLA, an NBC affiliate based in Tampa.

The news station spoke to a parent of one of the targeted students saying the two girls arrested had made a hit list of 10 people: seven girls and three boys.

The list had details on manner of death and where bodies would be buried, according to WFLA.

WFLA reports the the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office arrested both girls on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping.
