Ian downgraded to tropical storm as it continues to batter Florida
Hurricane Ian was downgraded to a tropical storm on Thursday. Maximum sustained winds dropped to near 65 mph with higher gusts early Thursday, the National Hurricane Center said, but the storm has continued to cause destruction as it moves northeast.
