Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton share message of unity: ‘We're ready to march with you’
Following the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Wednesday, Tom Hanks hosted the multi-network broadcast special “Celebrating America.” The special was packed with performances from some of the biggest names in the music industry. But the real stars of the show were the three former U.S. presidents who gathered for a message of unity. George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, who attended the inauguration earlier in the day, called for an end to division in the country. “I think the fact that the three of us are standing here talking about a peaceful transfer of power speaks to the institutional integrity of our country,” said Bush. “I think if Americans love their neighbor, like they would like to be loved themselves, a lot of division in our society would end.” While Biden and Harris now have the daunting task of unifying and managing the country, they can rest assured that they have the support of these former presidents. “Now [Biden] will lead for us and we're ready to march with you,” said Clinton. To which Obama added, “You and Kamala need to know that you've got all of us here, rooting for your success.”
