COVID-19 vaccine clinic volunteers in Yolo County eligible for shots in exchange for service

California health leaders want to pick up the pace of COVID-19 vaccinations. That's why the governor's office announced this week that it's asking all Californians who can volunteer at a vaccine clinic to do so. Yolo County is one of the state's 58 counties that already has a pool of about 1,800 volunteers from which to draw for its vaccine clinics. "It feels amazing. I always love to help people," said volunteer Maria Nansen. From those helping with check-in paperwork or parking to those in the observation area or serving as exit monitors, vaccine clinic volunteers are called upon to assist health care staff in a variety of ways.
