Journalists win Nobel Peace Prize for safeguarding freedom of expression in the Philippines, Russia

Journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to “safeguard freedom of expression” in the Philippines and Russia, which the Norwegian Nobel Committee says is “a precondition of democracy and lasting peace.”
