Upper Darby cops say Fred Jones dropped his wallet in an alley near where he left a 60-year-old woman robbed of cash on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman had withdrawn $40 from a Wells Fargo bank cash machine when Jones allegedly grabbed it and ran, according to The Reporter newspaper.

Inside the wallet, police found the driver’s license for Jones.

“Mr. Fred Jones, good news. We found your wallet. Bad news. You dropped it at robbery scene. Please turn yourself in,” police tweeted Thursday.

They even thanked Jones in advance.

The 28-year-old turned himself in Saturday after his family and friends recognized his picture on social media.

He now faces robbery charges in connection to this week’s theft.
