FIFA 22 Ones to Watch release date is around the corner as fans prepare for the first big promotion of the new Ultimate Team cycle.

Ones to Watch has traditionally been the first promotion of each FUT cycle since it was introduced in FIFA 17. Though the promotion has been updated and refined throughout the years, the core of the promotion remains the same. Celebrate the players who transferred clubs by giving them live items that upgrade throughout the year. There's an added bit of excitement when it comes to investing in players, using them in squads and more.

Considering how unprecedented this past summer transfer window was, FIFA 22's OTW is looking like the craziest edition of the promotion yet.

FIFA 22 Ones to Watch Release Date: When is it?

FIFA 22 Ones to Watch launches Oct. 1 alongside the game's full release. Those who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition will receive an untradeable Ones to Watch card on their accounts. A nice bonus with the chance of packing a top tier card right away.

Here's a list of confirmed OTW players:

  • Lionel Messi - 93 / RW - Paris Saint-Germain
  • Cristiano Ronaldo - 91 / ST - Manchester United
  • Romelu Lukaku - 88 / ST - Chelsea
  • Achraf Hakimi - 85 RB / Paris Saint-Germain
  • Georginio Wijnaldum - 84 / CM - Paris Saint-Germain
  • Jack Grealish - 84 / LW - Manchester City
  • David Alaba - 84 / CB - Real Madrid
  • Ibrahima Konate - 78 / CB - Liverpool

Messi and Ronaldo are already both confirmed, but this list doesn't even scratch the surface when it comes to how stacked this promotion will be. Names like Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and more have yet to be confirmed.

Ones to Watch cards upgrade each time the player receives a performance based upgrade item. The card's position will not change even if the player had their base position altered for the upgraded item. Also, there's a new Wins to Watch mechanic that will grant players an additional +1 upgrade if the player wins five out of their next ten domestic league games from Oct. 1 onward.
