You remember when an old picture of New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge floated around last year with him wearing a Boston Red Sox shirt, right? Of course you do. No Sox fan ever lets it go.

Well, that whole can of worms was brought up again today and Judge finally explained the reason why he was donning that shirt of what is now his archrival.

And no, he's never been a Sox fan.

Judge was at an Oakley event Friday and was asked about his fandom growing up, and of course this shirt was topic of conversation. The reigning AL Rookie of the Year professed to be a young San Francisco Giants fan who rooted for the Yankees in October (maybe that's a lie), then explained that this photo was from when he played in the Cape Cod league and his host family, who were die hard Red Sox fans, gave him the attire.

He also emphasized that this was "six years ago," which is long before he was drafted by the Yankees. All important pieces of information, no doubt.
