File photo © File photo File photo The Cardinals found a fantastic way to honor the Rally Cat that ran across the field at Busch Stadium during St. Louis' win over the Royals on Wednesday. They're going to have Rally Cat Appreciation Day on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Fans who buy a "Theme Ticket" will get a Rally Cat shirt, and some of the ticket sales will go to Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation and local animal shelters, per the Cardinals.

For those of you who missed all the news on the cat or need a refresher, here's the story:

The cat wasn't exactly friendly, but after it was taken off the field, Yadier Molina hit a grand slam. Well, I'll let Cardinals.com explain exactly what happened - their press release is pawfect:

The legend of Rally Cat began on Thursday, August 9th, 2017 at Busch Stadium. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Rally Cat trotted into the outfield with cat-titude and cathleticism. We're pawsitive he had a plan. Seconds after grounds crew member Lucas Hackmann captured the furry friend, CATcher Yadier Meowlina hit a grand slam to take the lead and litter-ally cement Rally Cat's place in history. Rally Cat has scratched and clawed his way into the hearts of Cardinals Nation.

St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach claims they found the Rally Cat. On Facebook, the organization says they'll be sending Rally Cat to a no-kill rescue group and that they'll update their page when they know which one the cat will go to.

Good cat.
