Former major-league pitcher Kevin Brown reported to police that his mail had been stolen from his home in Macon, Ga. The 53-year-old then took matters into his own hands.

Brown hid in a neighbor's yard and waited for the culprits to return, and return they did. Brown caught two men, who were later arrested, and held them at gunpoint until police deputies arrived, officers told Laura Corley of the Miami Herald.

One of the alleged thieves was an adult male, while the other was a 15-year-old. No further information was available.

Brown played parts of 19 seasons in the major leagues between the Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Miami (then Florida) Marlins, San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees.

A six-time All-Star, Brown posted a career record of 211-144 with a 3.28 ERA. His most impressive season came in 1996, his first with the Marlins, when he went 17-11 with a 1.89 ERA and 0.944 WHIP, finishing second in NL Cy Young voting behind Hall of Famer John Smoltz.
