Over his illustrious professional baseball career (which according to him is not over), Ichiro Suzuki was known for his quirky personality.

And this clip of him crashing former Chunichi Dragons closer Hitoki Iwase's retirement ceremony further exemplifies his great sense of humor.

Ichiro showed off the speed that helped him collect 3,089 hits and 509 stolen bases in his 18 years in Major League Baseball, by dashing in front of cameras, handing Iwase a gift and shoving a small tree out of his way as he escaped the scene.

This stunt kind of reminds me of this joke he pulled way back in June.

Hitoki Iwase dominated the competition over his 19 seasons with the Dragons, collecting 407 saves and posting a 2.31 ERA in his time on the mound.

It was nice to see the Japanese baseball icon and Seattle Mariners great honor one of the best pitchers in the history of the Japan Central League, albeit briefly.

I know I speak for more than myself when I say I hope to see Ichiro continue to pop up around baseball for many more years to come.
