Cathy Byrd’s son loves baseball. And we mean, he really loves baseball. It consumes him to his very core.

The youngster is claimed to be a “baseball prodigy,” spending countless hours pitching and hitting balls. He also “insisted on wearing a baseball uniform every day,” according to People Magazine. His talents were so distinguished he ended up being cast in a part of the Adam Sandler movie in 2011's "That’s My Boy" at 2 years old.

That’s just part of the interesting and unbelievable story, however. Byrd claims her son Christian is a reincarnation of baseball legend Lou Gehrig.

This may sound a bit loony, but Byrd claims she never believed in reincarnation until countless Google searches and books on Gehrig proved statements Christian made about the Yankees Hall of Famer that he would have otherwise not known. Someone at the age of two couldn’t possibly know how to search a database, right?

In her book, "The Boy Who Knew Too Much," Christian says something to make his mother really start to believe.

“Mommy, I used to be a tall baseball player.”

She responded by telling him that he will indeed be a tall baseball player, but that wasn’t the response Christian wanted.

“No! I was a tall baseball player—tall like Daddy!”

According to the People article, Christian would also mention scenarios about players traveling by train to hotels and even after glancing at a photo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, her son would say “they didn’t talk to each other.”

More importantly than these revelations, as a mother, Byrd says she “just knows” her son is indeed a reincarnation of Gehrig even as a practicing Catholic.

“I found myself straddling the great divide between logic and intuition,” explained Byrd. “The concept of reincarnation was diametrically opposed to my rational thoughts and my religious beliefs, yet my heart was telling me not to ignore what Christian was so desperately trying to tell me.”

Christian is a few years older now, but that doesn’t stop him from continuously wearing a Dodgers uniform everywhere he goes.

The book is on sale now on Amazon and the official trailer will leave you inspired with a foreword by well-known "Chicken Soup for the Soul" author Jack Canfield.

It’s also slated to go to the big screen at some point soon. After all, this is a story directly out of Hollywood, right?
