The Boston Red Sox won their third consecutive AL East championship - and 104th game this season - with an 11-6 victory on the road against the New York Yankees, in large part thanks to MVP candidate Mookie Betts, who had a home run, two doubles and finished with five RBI.

It was champagne for everyone in the locker room afterward, and while Betts was simultaneously being interviewed and getting showered with bottles, he came to a devastating realization. His phone was still in his pocket.

"You know what sucks?" Betts said mid-interview. "My phone is in my pocket. … It's probably gone now because of all the champagne. Somebody send me a new phone, please."

But like a pro, Betts carried and continued to answer questions. He said the Red Sox still have some work to do before October, despite their incredible year so far.

"We've had a great season, and I think we just want to soak it in right now."

His phone sure is.
