Icy conditions in Toronto led to a scary scene for the Kansas City Royals late Sunday night. If not for the quick reaction from pitcher Blaine Boyer, the ordeal could have been worse.

As reporters Rustin Dodd and Keegan Matheson described, a large chunk of ice fell off one of the team busses, striking the trailing bus' windshield. The glass shattered and shards hit the driver. Boyer then jumped from his seat to grab the wheel and get the bus stopped. The driver sustained cuts to his face but would be OK.

The damage from the ice, though, was truly shocking.

Boyer credited the bus driver for staying alert.

Nobody on the Royals was hurt.

That wasn't all. Ice continued to cause the Royals problems into Monday as a hole on the Rogers Centre roof threatened the start of Monday's game.
