Tim Tebow was honored with a selection to the Eastern League All-Star Game, and it didn’t take long for him to make an imprint on the contest.

Tebow reached base in his first at-bat by smacking an opposite field double on Wednesday:

The 30-year-old former NFL first-round pick is in just his second season of professional baseball. He has spent the entire season with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies of the Eastern League, which is the New York Mets’ Double-A team. On the season, he’s batting .270/.328/.390 with 12 doubles and five homers. His .718 OPS is respectable, but he still needs work on his plate discipline, as he’s walked just 21 times compared to 95 strikeouts in 76 games. A scout recently talked about what Tebow needs to do to get to the majors.
