It'd be a far cry for J.R. Smith to be up in arms about him being benched. He's not producing.

Point blank.

That, however, doesn't negate the fact that there should be some semblance of professional protocol when J.R. Smith, a starter for the Cavaliers, is being benched.

The head coach sending out a text message is hardly model leadership and may illuminate an example of why the Cavaliers are having all of the struggles that they are.

At the end of the day, eight points a game out of your starting shooting guard just isn't going to cut it. Not for the Cavaliers.

Smith may absolutely not deserve to be starting, but we can't just brush aside the fact that he does have a point here.

If his account of how he found out he'd no longer be starting came from a text message sent out by head coach Ty Lue, that form of communication may just be as egregious as Smith's play thus far this season.

Two wrongs don't make a right, and the problems persist in Cleveland.
