Those Boston athletes know a thing or two about sticking together and having each other's backs. With the Boston Celtics just two victories away from the NBA Finals, Red Sox star pitcher Chris Sale showed some love to his hometown team during a postgame presser Wednesday.

And in the process, he managed to throw some lowkey shade at the Cleveland Cavaliers.

As Raul Martinez of NBC10 Boston showed, Sale was wearing a "Boston Goon Squad" shirt after the game. This comes less than one day after Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said the Celtics are "gooning the game up," per Martinez.

It's always great when trash talk goes from being on the NBA court and expands out to the other sports in the city. This right here is pretty much Boston sports at its finest.

By now, we all know the story behind Drew Bledsoe and the "Scary Terry" shirts, but now we have Sale (and apparently other Red Sox players) with their own unique way of showing support.

Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and Cavaliers is set for Saturday at 8:30 pm EST in Cleveland.
