Only a few days after Spurs boss Gregg Popovich met with Kawhi Leonard for what was described by some as a "good" rendezvous, the Spurs are fielding offers for their best player.
While they are not actively searching them out, they're keeping track of calls from opposing teams with just hours before the draft.
Spurs are willing listeners on Kawhi Leonard trade proposals, but haven't been proactive in chasing down offers, league sources tell ESPN. For now, make an offer and they'll add it to their board. Spurs and Lakers have had no dialogue on Leonard.

Leonard has expressed his desire to the Spurs to be sent to the Lakers. He's a native of Los Angeles and went to school in San Diego, so it's evident that the homecoming angle is enticing. In addition to the lure of home, it's also been reported that the Super Max contract the Spurs can offer Leonard isn't enough to get him to stay.
While the Lakers and Spurs haven't been in contact, the fear of Leonard eventually leaving for the palm trees could scare several suitors away from giving the Spurs a package they want. If Leonard's people maintain that LA is his preferred destination, it looks like it's a matter of when, not if, he ends up in California.
