Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is a noted pacifist and outspoken critic of gun violence, police killings of unarmed African-American men and U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

On Sunday, Kerr seized on a 2014 tweet from Trump in which the now-president wrote, "It's almost like the United States has not President -[sic] we are a rudderless ship heading for a major disaster. Good luck everyone!"

Trump's comments were directed at then-President Barack Obama, toward whom Trump has long-held animosity.

But Kerr resurrected Trump's words and used them against the prolific, tweeting president - by retweeting them with comment: "Common ground!"

Although Kerr did not elaborate upon the sentiment, it is likely that he - like many Americans - was thinking of the 800,000 federal workers that are currently either barred from working or showing up to work without getting paid because of Trump's government shutdown that is nearing its thirtieth day.

Trump implemented the shutdown in effort to compel Democratic Congressional leaders to approve funding of his border wall.
