Count Warriors coach Steve Kerr in among sports figures upset with the result of the election.
Kerr lauded Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy for his comments earlier on Donald Trump and ripped into the lack of civil discourse throughout the election.
“For me, probably the biggest disappointment with his whole election was the level of discourse,” Kerr said before their game against the Mavericks. “There should be some level of decorum and respect and dignity that goes with the election of the presidency.”
Kerr further spoke about the “racist, misogynist, insulting words” Trump has used and having to see people he cares about react to them.
“It’s tough when you want there to be some respect and dignity and there hasn’t been any and then you walk into a room with your daughter and your wife, who’ve basically been insulted by his comments, and they’re distraught,” Kerr said. “And you walk in and you see the faces of your players, most of them who have been insulted directly as minorities, it’s sort of shocking. It really is. We talked about it as a team this morning. I don’t know what else to say.”
Kerr’s rant did, however, did include some optimism and hope for president-elect Donald Trump.
“I wish him well. I hope he’s a good president,” Kerr said. “I have no idea what kind of president he’ll be because he hasn’t said anything about what he’s going to do. We don’t know.”
"I'm happy with the results. I've supported Trump for a while. I'm not going to dive into it. I know it's a sensitive issue, but I like where it's going."

The Green Bay Packers QB came up with a humorous reply to all the Trump questions: "I just want to thank all the voters out there who did vote for me. I know for some people it was between me and Harambe. I think I finished second in that vote.”
Former NBA player and TV analyst, Charles Barkley wants Trump haters to give him a chance: "I was in shock, I'm not gonna lie. I was totally surprised at the election results. That being said, we've got to move on. I was disappointed because my candidate didn't win, No. 1. But like I said, it's over now. [Trump] is going to be the president of the United States. We've got to respect the office, and we have to give him a chance. That's the bottom line."
LeBron wrote on Instagram: "Parents and leaders of our children please let them know they can still change the world for the better! Don't lose a bit of faith! They're our future and we must remain stronger than ever!! Yes we all wanna lace up the boots, put on the hard hats and strike but that's not the answer. Love, genuine LOVE and FAITH will be the only thing that can get us through this."
Clippers coach Doc Rivers after the win against the Trail Blazers: Listen, Donald Trump is going to be fine, all right, as President. That’s something I never thought I’d have to say, honestly. But at the end of the day he will be because I just believe America overall works. There’s a Congress and a Senate and it’s gonna work out. But if you don’t like it, you have two years from now to change it. Not (to change the) President, but you can change the Congress and you can change the Senate. So if you don’t like it, change it. And you change it by either running for office or voting … Don’t get mad, go do something.
