Making plans to see an NBA game this season? Want to catch one of the league's marquee matchups?

Then you'll have to dig deep in those pockets. It won't be a cheap night. These are the most popular games after all.

Here are the Top 10 NBA games of the season, based on ticket demand as reported by StubHub:

  1. Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers, Dec. 18 -- The Lakers will retire both of Kobe Bryant's jersey numbers on the same night the defending champs come to town. This will be a celebrity watch night. Average ticket price: $660.
  2. Cleveland Cavaliers at Boston Celtics, Feb. 11, 2018 -- Celtics will retire Paul Pierce's jersey and Isaiah Thomas returns to Boston, possibly healed up enough from his hip injury that he's playing. Average ticket price: $433.
  3. Cavaliers at Warriors, Dec. 25 -- In the first meeting between the two, the Warriors might be looking for some payback for blowing a 14-point lead at Cleveland last Christmas and losing at the buzzer. These two teams have played each other in the past three NBA Finals and are favorites to meet for a fourth. Average ticket price: $698.
  4. Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers, Oct. 20 -- It's the home opener for the Sixers and the fans are excited about their team for the first time in a long time. Oh, and they're playing the hated Celtics. Average ticket price: $218.
  5. Warriors at 76ers, Nov. 18 -- So Sixers fans want to see how their team stacks up against the defending champs. And, well, it's Steph Curry and Kevin Durant coming to town. Average ticket price: $277.
  6. Celtics at Cavaliers, Oct. 17 -- If being the first game of the NBA season isn't enough, it's the first time Kyrie Irving comes back to Cleveland after asking for a trade in the offseason. With how that happened and some of his recent comments, it might not be a happy homecoming. Average ticket price: $243.
  7. 76ers at New York Knicks, Dec. 25 -- Maybe there are a lot of Philly fans in New York? Maybe a big group is taking the train up from Philly to the game? Average ticket price: $265.
  8. Los Angeles Clippers at Lakers, Oct. 19 -- Lonzo Ball makes his debut and everyone is excited about it! If you don't believe that, ask his dad. OK, maybe everyone isn't coming out to see Ball, and maybe there are some Clippers fans wanting to see if they're still the best team in town. Average ticket price: $265.
  9. Houston Rockets at Warriors, Oct. 17 -- The Warriors get their championship rings and will raise the banner to the ceiling and what self-respecting fan doesn't want to see that? It could also be one of the highest-scoring games of the season. Could there be multiple triple-doubles? Average ticket price: $470.
  10. Cavaliers at Celtics, Jan. 3, 2018 -- This is the first time Isaiah Thomas comes home after the trade that sent him to Cleveland in exchange for Kyrie Irving. There's no guarantee he plays in this game because he's recovering from a hip injury, but if you're a Celtics fan, you can't take any chances. Average ticket price: $308.
