Syracuse guard Frank Howard appeared to try to trip Duke star Zion Williamson during a quarterfinal ACC Tournament matchup Thursday.

The play occurred with a little more than 12 minutes remaining in the first half. Howard looked as if he stuck out his leg after Williamson finished a dunk and was running back on defense.

Williamson stumbled but regained his balance without falling.

Howard, however, denied that was his intention after the game.

"If you're saying I'm trying to trip him, I don't get it," Howard told reporters. "He's a hell of an athlete. I have a lot of respect for him. I'm not going to wait for four years to get to this stage and start tripping people."

Williamson returned to the lineup Thursday after missing five games because of a sprained right knee he suffered less than 40 seconds into Duke’s first matchup against North Carolina on Feb. 20.

He tallied 21 points on 9-of-9 shooting, nine rebounds and five steals in the first half against the Orange, finishing with 29 points and 14 rebounds.
