Stories like this are among the reasons why the football players are all "dumb jocks" stereotype has absolutely no merit.

Former Florida State star Myron Rolle's career dreams are beginning to pan out. However, in a distinct turn of events, playing football happens to be nowhere in his plans.

Rolle has the task of saving lives on his mind, and will start his neurosurgery residency at Harvard University this coming July.

We can thank Rolle for single-handedly raising the perceived IQ of football players by quite a few notches.

What's even more impressive is the fact that it's not like Rolle couldn't have been an NFL player, he just had other aspirations. Rolle graduated from FSU early in 2008 and chose to defer his NFL career for a year to earn his master's degree in medical anthropology at Oxford.

Nevertheless, Rolle was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2010, but would ultimately return to medical school a few years later to continue his studies.

Rolle, 30, now an aspiring young doctor, has successfully set a high standard for what guys can achieve off the football field.

While an NFL career is phenomenal, it doesn't have to be the be-all end-all. Rolle is showing there's no limits to the work one can do in various different avenues of life.

Congratualtions to Myron Rolle on his stellar accomplishments and being a trendsetter.
