Olu Fashanu feels ready for NFL despite return to Penn State
In December, Olu Fashanu shocked both Penn State fans and the NFL when he announced he was coming back for another season as a Nittany Lion.
Fashanu was hyped and mocked as a top-five pick in the 2023 NFL draft and was seen as one of the most physically gifted players in college football. On Saturday we all finally got an answer to the question we had all been wondering; why?
According to Daily Collegian reporter Seth Engle, via Twitter, Fashanu said “I definitely felt that I wouldn’t been ready to leave if I wanted to last year.”
He went on to discuss how his parent’s “big emphasis” on his education did matter in his decision. He added though that “when I started getting offers in high school, it meant going to college for free and part of my plan was graduating with a degree.”
Fashanu also included he is on pace to graduate this summer, which will allow him to treat this upcoming Penn State football season like he would a professional season.
That doesn’t mean he is putting the books down entirely though, he ended his answer by telling everyone he is excited to get started on his Master’s Degree.
