Colorado and head coach Mike MacIntyre will part ways at the end of the season, multiple sources told Troy Renck and Joseph Peters of Denver7.

An associate athletic director at Colorado couldn't confirm the news late Monday night, while athletic director Rick George apparently couldn't be reached.

MacIntyre is nearing the conclusion of his sixth campaign in Boulder. He guided the Buffaloes to a 10-4 record and the Pac-12 South title in 2016, but he's otherwise failed to post a winning season. He also came under fire in 2017 for his handling of past domestic violence complaints against former assistant Joe Tumpkin.

The Buffaloes will attempt to snap a five-game losing streak Saturday against Utah. They must win one of their final two matchups to qualify for a bowl game.

MacIntyre has three years and about $10 million remaining on his contract.
