Adrian Peterson says he should have had 1,500+ yards in 2018

For a 34-year-old running back playing in his 12th season, 1,000+ yards and seven touchdowns is pretty impressive.

For Adrian Peterson, it was short of expectations.

"I feel like last year was just a decent season, like for me in my mind," Peterson said, via Kyle Stackpole of Redskins.com "People were like, 'Wow, you did incredible, you had 1,000 yards.' And I'm like, 'Man, I should have had 1,500-1,600 yards."

Peterson has run for more than 1,500 yards just twice in his career, but he felt there were some yards left on the field in 2018.

Unfortunately for AP, the expected emergence of Redskins' second-year back Derrius Guice will likely stifle the 34-year-old's production in his 13th year. No matter, though, as any production that Washington can squeeze out of Peterson this year will go a long way in helping out a stagnant offense that will be playing under a new quarterback.
