The Dallas Cowboys' polarizing running back, Ezekiel Elliott, has been granted a temporary restraining order in his legal battle with the NFL and will be eligible to play two more games before a final decision is made in New York.

The decision comes amid an aggressive effort by Elliott and his legal team to clear the 22-year-old standout's name in the matter. According to statement from the player on Wednesday, he doesn't want to be "labeled as an abuser."

Elliott has been facing a six-game suspension from the NFL for a violation of the league's personal conduct policy, but it's been put on delay since he was cleared to play shortly before Week 1. For now, he's putting his trust in his legal counsel the while he tries to focus on football.

There are surely more shoes to drop Elliott's rollercoaster of a case.

For now, the only thing we know for sure is that he'll be in pads for Sunday's game against the Niners.
