Baker Mayfield may not have to wait long to hear his name called at the 2018 NFL Draft.

Coaches and general managers around the league expect the Cleveland Browns to select Mayfield with the first overall pick Thursday night, according to a report from ESPN.

Cleveland general manager John Dorsey declined to say who the team was planning to select with the top overall pick in an interview with NFL Network on Wednesday.

The Browns, who also hold the fourth pick, are also believed to be considering quarterbacks Josh Allen, Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen.

The Browns went winless in 2017. They traded DeShone Kizer, who started 15 games at quarterback for the team as a rookie, to the Packers in early March and sent backup Cody Kessler to the Jaguars three weeks later.

The Browns also acquired Tyrod Taylor from Buffalo for a third-round pick and he is expected to open the season as their starting quarterback.

Cleveland hasn't made the playoffs since 2002.
