The Seattle Seahawks made a blockbuster move earlier this month, trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for several draft picks, Noah Fant, Shelby Harris and Drew Lock.

During a recent interview on 710 ESPN Seattle, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll once again reiterated that he never had any intention of trading Wilson.

Carroll also said that he fought against the Seahawks trading Wilson for as long as he could.

This is the second time Carroll has addressed the Wilson trade in the past week.

In a recent press conference, Carroll said people shouldn’t really point fingers as to what went wrong with Wilson in Seattle.

I’ve said a million times to you guys that I have had no intention of moving on with the quarterback,” Carroll told reporters, via Seahawks Wire. “I love Russ and loved him in the program, that’s the way I was committed to doing it and I felt that way all the way throughout. The opportunity became available, a business opportunity became available, we can see it, now we have the chance to take a look and we did. We took a look and were surprised at how good of a deal came to us.”

Replacing a quarterback like Russell Wilson is nearly impossible, but the Seahawks will try their best to stay afloat without him.
