Most of America woke up to news of yet another mass shooting around the United States. This time, it took place in the upscale Southern California neighborhood of Thousand Oaks.

A 28-year-old Marine Corps vet opened fire late Wednesday night at The Borderline Bar and Grill during what was called college night at the local establishment, killing 12 innocent bystanders.

It’s just the latest example of a mass shooting shaking the foundation of the United States at a time when our people are being butchered at a record clip.

In waking up to the news, both the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers reacted on social media.

It started with a statement from the Rams.

And continued with another statement from the Chargers.

Players also chimed in.

NFL teams play major roles in their communities. For the Rams and Chargers, both new to the Los Angeles area, this has to hit home big time. It’s something you don’t think can happen in your community until it does.
